George D. Hughes

George was an Army Veteran who served six years for his country, as he was beginning his career at General Electric in Louisville, KY and retired after working from 1968 to 2005. George however, did not stop working, he then started working at Bennett Hardware Store in Taylorsville, KY. He was also an artist who loved being able to create beautiful woodworking pieces and paintings. If he was not creating pieces of art, he was outdoors. Fishing and traveling were a few of his hobbies he enjoyed. His trips to Myrtle Beach and the Smokey Mountains were his favorite. Becoming Grandad was what he was most proud of. George loved his family truly and deeply, being a father and a husband brought him much joy and happiness in life.

His wife of 54 years; C. Susie Hughes, son Christopher Scott Hughes (Amy), granddaughter, Isabella Hope Hughes, along with many cousins and friends, will cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will occur on Friday, April 7th from 11-2PM with a Celebration of George's life beginning at 2:00PM. theses service will take place at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown rd. Louisville, KY 40218. He will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
