Frank was a loving husband and father. He had a bigger than life personality and always enjoyed being around family. He never met a stranger and taught his family, through example, how to be a servant and make others feel loved and valued. He had a kindness and sweetness about him that will never be forgotten.
He was a member of Landmark Baptist church and loved his church family as well. He also thoroughly enjoyed woodworking and spent his time making beautiful gifts for others that will always be cherished. Some like to fish, but dad loved to fish. As a young man it was never too cold or wet to go fishing.
The love of his life was Maudie Lay and they were married for 63 years. They have two sons, Glenn Lay and wife Phyllis, Bruce Lay and wife Tracey, five grandchildren, Stephanie Lay, Brandon Lay, Jesse Lay, Laura Jones and Tiffany Fritts. They have been further blessed with six great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews and want to acknowledge that Karl Cooley had a special place in dad’s heart.
Frank’s funeral will be Monday March 8, 2021 at 11 AM at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel 10907 Dixie Hwy., burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the Lay Family at www.advantagefunerals.com.
