She was a former pre-school aid for Smyrna Elementary.
Frances was a lifetime member of PTA and a member of Highview Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Eslie Kirk.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, John Morton; children, David Morton (Deborah) and Melissa Morton; mother, Lottie Kirk; sisters, Jean Thornton (Marshall) and Earlene King (Mike); grandchildren, Emma and Alex Morton; three nephews and two nieces.
There will be a celebration of her life at noon Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy., with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
