Frances (Frankie) Ann Mooney Blackburn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at home after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of fifty years Donald Wayne Blackburn, their son Jason Wayne Blackburn, his wife Jennifer and their three children Braden, Kelsey, and Chloe. She is also survived by her sister Marie Sanders(Ronnie);Michael Mooney (Darlene);and Dennis Mooney (Barbara). She is preceded in death by her parents Frank V. and Juanita F. Mooney (2007); and her sisters Kathleen Likens and Karen Mooney.
Frankie Ann (as she was known by everyone) was a loving wife and mother, as supportive and strong as a lioness. As Granna, her pride in and love for her grandchildren beat like a steady pulse, always present and strong. Her siblings and friends could always depend on Frankie to speak the truth and call it like she saw it. Her integrity, honesty, and sense of humor drew people to her like butterflies to flowers. She was also a protector of God’s creatures “great and small”! She loved them all— dogs cats, raccoons and birds—especially hummingbirds! Those silent sweet wisps of perfection.
She will be missed, so very missed, by her husband, her family and friends. You could count on Frankie! She was, as she said, “true blue”. Her personal philosophy “it is what it is” wraps itself around our hearts. You are loved Frankie Ann, always and ever-after.
