Florence “Jane” Langsdon Cox was born in Louisville, KY in the front bedroom of her home on August 8, 1933. She died August 4, 2021 at home after battling colon cancer. She was the baby of the family born to William A. Langsdon and Sarah Fluhr Langsdon. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and granny to her great grandchildren.
Jane retired from Citizens Fidelity Bank. She loved animals, enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross stitch. She was a very avid genealogist. She researched our family back to Germany. She loved the hunt!
Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Finis Edward Cox. They met on a blind date. Mom said when he kissed her good night she pushed him off the porch! She knew from that first kiss she would marry him. Well we all know how that turned out. They married 10 months later and went on to have 9 children within 16 years.
She is survived by Thomas Edward (Sharon), Joseph Michael (Delores – deceased), Timothy Wayne (Becky), Charles Patrick (Janet), Sherry Seger (Joe), Danny Lee (Melanie), Karen Morrison (George), Mark Ellis (Beth), William Douglas (Mike); 17 beloved grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one on the way; and very special friend of 60 years, Georgia Norris.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother and father and her siblings, Frances, Joe, and Bee; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hosparus for their loving care and compassion especially, Nikki, Liz, Jessica, and Mr. Lawrence. Memorial donations in Jane’s honor should be directed to Hosparus.
