Evelyn Strong, 94, of Louisville was born on November 21, 1928 to the late Hubert and Viola (Haynes) Lane, and passed from this life on October 15, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, James “Bud” Strong, Sr., and a son, James “Buddy” Strong, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Leon Strong (Cheryl) and a daughter, Toni Melcher (Del); sister, Margaret Rose Davis; 8 grandsons and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 1 pm on Thursday October 19, 2023 in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will also be on Thursday after 10 am.
