Emma K. Spalding, 67, of Louisville, passed way on September 10, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was the former Emma McGill, member of Highview Baptist Church and a retired waitress from Kingfish for over 36 years. Emma just loved to go on vacation with her family and just spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward W. Jr. and Edna Kincade McGill, and a brother, John McGill.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 47 years, John Frank Spalding Jr.; daughters, Michelle Denham (Tim) and Lisa Johnson (Tony); a sister, Jenny Alexander (Steve Mauk); brothers, Donnie (Joyce), Pete (Bonnie) and Bob (Sue) McGill; four grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Cole and Ally and great-granddaughter, Zoe.
There are also numerous extended family, nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her.
Emma's Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, September14, 2011 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the TCU staff at Norton Audubon Hospital for all of the wonderful care that was given to Emma and to them during this very difficult time.
