Else Jakob Brewer

Else Jakob Brewer, 81, of Louisville, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning at the Episcopal Church Home. Her family will miss her cheerful encouraging heart and the warmth of her unconditional love.

She was born in Srbobran, Yugoslavia, where her family owned a thriving lumber business. Her family immigrated to the United States as refugees in 1950. Else worked for many years in retail, and she especially enjoyed working at the old Bacon's Department Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown.

Else was preceded in death by her by her husband, Leroy. She was also preceded by her parents, Emil and Hermine Jakob and a brother, Helmut. She is survived by her five children, Karen Brewer, Sandra Ball, Allen Brewer II, Barry Brewer and Kirby Brewer and his wife, Marisela; sister, Heidi Jakob Sellers, and a brother, Herbert Jakob and his wife Lynn; four grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter also survive.

A service will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 15 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until time of service Tuesday.
