FRICK, ELMA BAXTER, 93, passed away March 12, 2017. Elma was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Frick, and survived by daughters Caroline Lorence (Steve) and Edith Halbleib (Tom, Jr.); and grandchildren Alyssa, Andrew, Christian, Tommy and Grace.
Born in rural Iowa, she attended a one-room schoolhouse and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Iowa State and master's degree from Penn State. She worked in the lab at the Mellon Institute and moved to Louisville to work in product testing at Pillsbury. She is a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
In her later years, she volunteered for the Braille workshop and was committee chair for the Forum lecture series.
A funeral service will be held at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., at 10:00 A.M. on Monday and visitation will be 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday.
