Edna V Coffey

Edna Coffey, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 7, 2023. She was born on Thanksgiving Day on November 26, 1942. Edna was the fourth child of five children to the late Lloyd and Edna Streible. This was during World War ll, the hospital was short staffed and her father had to assist with the delivery until the doctor arrived.

Edna attended several grade schools throughout Kentucky and high school in Jefferson County where she grew up. It was in high school that she met her husband Roger Coffey during her sophomore year. They married in December of 1961, during her senior year. Seventeen days later, Roger went off to boot camp of the United States Air Force while she stayed at home to finish high school. After graduation, she moved to Illinois, where Roger was stationed. They welcomed their only child, Keith Allen, while they were stationed in New Mexico. Edna was bestowed the “Tow Woman of the Year” in 1986 in which she was very proud of.

A visitation in Edna’s honor will be held on Thursday June 15, 2023 from 11AM to 3PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will follow directly after the visitation at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel. Edna will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
