Douglas Smith

Visitation will be held at 12 noon, Friday, January 12, 2024 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., immediately following visitation, with Dave Cordrey of Life Bridge Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.

Douglas was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Alva E. and Margaret F. Smith on November 24, 1941. He went to school in Plainfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutger’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Business Minor. Douglas married Joy Margaret Williams on June 8, 1963 in Linden, New Jersey. He worked in retail throughout his entire career. Doug retired from Meijer just a few short years ago to spend more time with his family.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, and his youngest son, Todd Alva Smith.

Douglas is survived by his spouse, Joy Smith; son, Glenn Smith; daughters, Kerry (Robert Hogan) and Stacy (Christopher Long); daughters-in-law, Dawn Isgrigg Smith and Lena Lane Smith; brother, Donald A. Smith; sister, Alison A. Bernard; grandchildren, Dale (Ellena) Hogan, Sean Hogan, Lauren Smith, Cameron Smith, Dylan Long, Jacob Long, Ryan Long, and Olivia Smith.
