Dorothy “Dot” Marshall entered into Heaven on May 25, 2023 at the age of 99. We know she was met with the open arms of many loved ones passed, and are sure she is currently dancing with the love of her life, Dub. Dot spent her life surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Born in Louisville, Ky on June 16, 1923, Dot met and married her soulmate, Dub Marshall, on December 25, 1943. While his job with the telephone company took them many places, Kentucky was always home and they would return there to live out their years together. Never having human children - the poodle, Mr. Peepers, lived a very spoiled life. Dot and Dub also had many adoring nieces and nephews as well as “adopted” children who they loved as their own. In addition to pouring into their family, they were active in many church communities in their life.
After Dub passed away in 2013, Dot moved to Arnold, Md where she lived the last years of her life with her sister Martha, with both being cared for by her niece, Patricia Bragg. During that time Dot was a member of College Parkway Baptist Church where she was sure to provide donut holes every Sunday. The ladies were lovingly referred to as “The Golden Girls.” Dot will be very missed however, we are comforted knowing she is where she most desired to be, with Dub.
She is preceded in death by her husband William C. “Dub” Marshall, her parents, Catherine and John Dahl Sr.; brothers Vernon “Bud” Dahl, Frank Dahl, and John “Sonny” Dahl Jr.; and sister, Carolyn Marshall.
Dot is survived by her sister, Martha DeBruin of Arnold, Md; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
A funeral is being held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 3:00 with visitation from 1-3 at Arch L Heady Funeral Home on Bardstown Rd.
