Doris M. Wilson, 77, of Louisville passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at The Episcopal Church Home. She joined her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Wilson who preceded her in death on July 14, 2001. She was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on April 8, 1934 to the late Fred Lawrence and Grace Winselman Lawrence.
She was an avid musician playing the accordion, piano and mellophone. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge, traveling and had several hobbies which included painting and sewing. She was a member of Hunting Creek County Club and Newcomers Compass. She held several volunteer offices within many organizations.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Bagnall and a cousin, Jean Bankert.
She is survived by her three loving children, Stuart (K) Wilson, Debbie (Rusty) Napier and Cindy (Bill) Parrish; her cherished grandchildren, James and Max Wilson, Tyler, Ashton and Paige Napier and Elyssa and Olivia Parrish; a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted Wednesday December 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of The Episcopal Church Home, 7504 Westport Road with private inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will gather from 12 to 2 prior to the service on Wednesday in the chapel.
