Doris M. Paine

Doris M. Ries, 89, returned to her heavenly father Monday, May 21, 2012.

Born September 27, 1922 in Louisville, to the late John and Rosella Schneider Ries,

Doris was very involved in her community. Staying active in the Neighborhood House, MUSCL, St. Ann’s Confraternity, Golden Key, St. Martha’s Seniors, Golden Years and the Catholic Golden Age.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Paine; brother, Anthony Ries; sister, Shirley Webb; sons in laws, Jim Davis and Dickey Begley; and granddaughter, Shawnna Kersey.

Left to carry on her memory are her children, Margie Davis, George John Paine (Debbie), Patty Nelson (Charlie), Doris “Jeannie” Hodge (Ray), Barbara Kersey (Randy Spencer) and Joseph Paine; 25 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Saturday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 S. Shelby St. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady Russman & Sons, 1201 East Oak Street.
