Doris M. Gerst, 84, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her home. Her husband of 40 years, Walter L. Gerst, died just hours before Doris.
She was a former employee of Ken Bowl, enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid UK fan.
Doris is survived by a son, Jerry Byers (Gail); step-daughter, Angela Gerst; brothers, John and Frank Perry; a sister, Shirley Ensor; grandchildren, Jeff, Tiffany, and Jason; 5 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held jointly with her husband from 2-8 pm Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral service will be held jointly with her husband at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
