Donelda Clara (Buell) Frye, 95, devoted wife and loving mother passed away Nov 30, 2021 at home in Rogersville, Missouri. She was born in Stevens County, Chewelah, Washington on November 18, 1926 to parents Donald Frank Buell and Clara Brindle Dixon Buell. She was the second oldest of five and grew up in Washington.
She accepted the call as Missionary to the Kentucky Mountains at the tender age of 19, which brought many new experiences. She raised the required $21 support and set off on the long bus ride from Washington state to the Kentucky mountains. It was there that she met her future husband, Benjamin Frye. They were married on July 20, 1948 in Toppenish, Washington. They shared 68 years of marriage before Benjamin's death in 2016.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; parents, Donald and Clara Buell; sisters, Donetta, Dorothy and Darlaine; oldest son, Wesley, and one great grandson, Michael Frye. She is survived by her brother, Darrell Buell (wife Joyce) of Zillah WA; "adopted" brother, Larry Rabe (wife Linda) of Toppenish, WA; four sons; Wayne (wife Kathleen) of Moore, OK; Dwight (wife Donna) of Sebastian, FL; Jesse of Pensacola, FL; and Warren (wife Kerry) of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Wonetta of Edmond, OK, and Wilma (husband Steve Bunch) of Rogersville, MO; and daughter-in-law Donna Frye of Fairview, TN. She has 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that love and will dearly miss her but will never forget her.
She was a joyful and active church member volunteering by teaching Sunday School, visiting those who were sick or disabled, and helping in any circumstance presented. She and Benjamin were members of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL until their move to Missouri. She faithfully read her Bible daily and took every opportunity to share her love of Jesus with everyone she met. She enjoyed being outside working in her flower gardens, and in later years, she colored pictures and cards which were then frequently sent to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to SynGAP Research Fund, a 501c3 organization funding research for SynGAP1, a rare neurological disease which affects one of her great grandchildren.
