Donald J. Shumate, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
He was a retired carman for L&N Railroad and an Air Force veteran.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Shumate; son, Kevin Shumate (Sheila); daughter, Karen Berry; and brother, Charles Shumate. He is survived by a son, Mark Shumate (Theresa); daughter, Sandy Graves (Zeke Skaggs); siblings Hazel Skaggs, Leo Shumate, and Kenny Shumate; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 Saturday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
