David Arlis White died at his home early Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the age of 81. He was a Arkansas native and was an Army chaplain. He and his wife, Jean G. White who passed away in 2014 lived and worked in New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Germany. He received a bachelors degree in voice and a masters degree in both Theology and Counseling. After he retired from the military he and his wife worked together as chaplain at a prison in South Dakota before settling in Louisville in 1996. He was a member of Strathmoor Presbyterian Church.
David is survived by three children, David Christian White, Rebecca Helen White, and Susan Elizabeth Wells; two grandchildren, Isabel Cecile Armour, and David Arlis White; and two sisters, Julia Carlyle and Nancy White.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Strathmoor Presbyterian Church, 2201 Hawthorne Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40205 with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-5 on Sunday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road and from 11-1 on Monday at the church.
