David Leon Issac, 70, of Louisville, passed away on January 30, 2016, at home with his family by his side. He was a native of Menifee County, KY, and a retired licensing examiner for the State of Kentucky with the State Police and the Department of Corrections. David was a U. S. Army veteran and had been a member of the Elizabethtown American Legion Post and Highlands Post #201. He was a KY Colonel, and a member of the Easter Seal Booster Club. But David was a very caring and giving man to all that knew him. He would do anything for family or a stranger. He loved to fish and deer hunt and was a great cook. He will truly be missed by all of his family and friends who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lula Hayes Issac; siblings, Ferrell and Woody Issac; and a child, Terry Turner.
Left cherishing his memory is his wife of 47 years, Clara Nation Issac; children Pamela (John) Renck, Ralph "Sonny" Husband Jr, Debbie Husband, Sandra Crum; siblings, Anna, Cordell (Joann) and Robert (Margaret) Issac; sister-in-law, Sheila Issac; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren and special granddaughter Sunny Danielle Turner.
A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, KY. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
