David Lee Bingham, 87 of St. Matthews, passed away peacefully into his saviors arms on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Born on June 9, 1931 in Hazard KY, he was the son of the late Taylor Gilbert and Sallie Ann Roberts Bingham and was the youngest of fourteen children. A graduate of Morehead University, he studied Industrial Arts, Economics and Sociology earning an A.B. degree in 1954. David was a proud businessman and started both Bingham Equipment Rental and Bingham Moving and Storage Company. He was a member of the LMPD River City lodge #614, a Kentucky Colonel, a Baptist by faith who enjoyed Billy Graham. David and enjoyed anything U.K. Sports – GO CATS! He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.
David Lee Bingham “Papa” leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Daughter, Kerri Bingham of Louisville, KY. And daughter Vicki Bingham Of Louisville, KY; Granddaughter, Jennifer Bingham Alonso and husband Mitchel Alonso of Louisville KY; Granddaughter, Marissa Franz of Louisville, KY; Great grandson, Aiden Connor Alonso. He is also survived by his dear friends and “Wingman” Danny Cundiff and caregiver Phyllis Priutt. The family would like to also thank the many Medical Professionals who helped David during his illness. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
A celebration of David’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road (on the campus of SouthEast Christian Church) with interment to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery at Duncan Memorial in Crestwood KY. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 10-12 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
