Daniel Long Coffman

He was a teacher, guidance counselor and principal with the Jefferson County public school system and the Tampa, FL school system. He was also an Army veteran and a member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church.

Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Revella Souder Coffman; parents, Robert and Phoebe Coffman; brothers, Raymond and Silas; and by his sister, Helen.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Gertrude "Trudi" Hoffmann Coffman; daughter, Dr. Donna Coffman, M.D. of St. Louis MO; son, Mark D. Coffman, CDR USN (Eileen) of Norfolk, VA; two stepdaughters, Angela Ossoris of Tampa and Sonia Camp (Greg) of New York; brothers, Walter Coffman of Upton KY, Dr. Ralph Coffman (Mary Ann) of Louisville, David Coffman (Vivian) of Louisville, Robert Coffman of Elizabethtown KY; sisters, Doris Druen (Foster) of Elizabethtown and Mary Margaret Silliman (Gerald) of Louisville; and grandchildren, Erin Revella, Muriel Ann Fogarty, Mary Beth, Cassie, Matthew Coffman and Olivia Camp. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
