Dana R. Hicks (aka Dan or Danny to friends and family), 76, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023.
He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the US Army, and worked at International Harvester for several years. Dana grew up in the Valley Station and Muldraugh areas, where his parents owned the Hicks Family Restaurants. His passions included his kids, camping, and fishing.
Dana is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Brewer Hicks; daughters Lisa Presley-Codey (Jerry), Maria Durbin (Wayne), and Dawn Cox (Rob); son, Scott Hicks; sister, Gina Kustes; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild due in October; and his beloved dog, Sofie.
His funeral service will be held at 11:30 Wednesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday.
