Cyrilla “Colleen” Appling, 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was born on May 16, 1934, in Louisville, KY, to the late William & Henrietta Wethington. Colleen graduated from Eastern State College in 1956 and taught school in the J C P S system for 30 years. She was proud to be a Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wanda Marples. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Thomas Appling; a sister Nancy Hale (Mike); a brother Douglas Wethington (Ann); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Colleen’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Highlands Presbyterian Church, 1011 Cherokee Road.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Rapier Fund at Highlands Presbyterian Church.
