Curtis J. Borden, age 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021.
He was born on February 24, 1930 in Ragland, Alabama to the late James and Addie Ruth Borden. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in the military for 20 years. He joined the Louisville Police Department in 1969 where he rose through the ranks from Patrolman to be the first African American to attain the rank of Captain and Lt. Colonel until his retirement in 1997. His formal education includes a BS Degree in Police Administration and an MS Degree in Criminal Justice from EKU.
He is joining his wife, Eleonore Borden who passed in 2018. Left to cherish Curtis's memory are his two daughters, Ellen Borden Mulcahy (Kevin) and Marlene Borden; grandchildren, Zachary Borden and Eldred Hopkins; great grandson, Braedyn Hopkins; sister, Betty Alexander; brother, Donald Borden and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
At this time there will be no services for Curtis. The family will have a celebration of Curtis's life at a later date.
