In loving memory, we announce the passing of Connie Gayle Yeager Ford, affectionately known as "Mimi," on July 21. She is now in eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. Born on July 30, 1940, in Harrodsburg, KY, Connie resided in the Highlands of Louisville for 27 years and in Fisherville, KY, for the past seven years. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arlie and Blanche Yeager.
Connie is survived by her devoted husband, Dudley Ford; her son, Todd Hardy (Tina); her daughters, Traci Stickler (Jim), Terri Johnston, and Debbie Houchin. She was a cherished grandmother to Brittany Morris (Brian), Jim Stickler Jr. (Amber), Nikki Clyde (Grant), Blake Johnston, and Cheryl (Missy) Houchin. Her great-grandchildren, Brock Morris, Bella Morris, Ava Stickler, James Stickler, and Lane Clyde, brought her immense joy.
Connie grew up in Taylorsville, KY. She had many fond memories of her high school years and kept in touch with many of her classmates over the years.
Her professional career was spent entirely in the long term care industry. She was the Meadows East Nursing Home administrator for 19 years during which time she was awarded Administrator of the Year. After retiring from this position, she went on to do consulting work for the Wells Health Systems.
Mimi was known for her radiant smile and warm heart, always welcoming her family and friends with open arms. She was a compassionate and caring individual who consistently put the needs of others before her own.
Connie was an active member of many social clubs such as the Buechel Rotary Club, Fern Creek Booster Club, and Gaslight Festival Committee just to name a few. Building many relationships and helping to support her community with her fun loving and helpful spirit.
She loved spending time with her family, cherishing memorable trips to Belleair Beach, FL, cruise vacations with her grandchildren, on her houseboat Magic Moments on Green River, at her cabins in Gatlinburg, as well as, visits to Gulf Shores, RV trips out west, and her son's hunting ranch.
Connie was a dedicated member of Highview Baptist church and then later at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, where she received spiritual guidance from Brother Bill Hancock and Pastor Tom Dillard.
Her close friends, Donna Hayes and Tammy Johnson, were significant parts of her life, sharing many treasured moments together.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 3 PM - 8 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington.
