He was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Scenia and James Martin on September 9, 1925, in the coal mining town of Blackstar, Kentucky.
Clint was drafted from his senior year at Corbin High School to serve in WWII. He lost his lower right leg after stepping on a land mine in Germany on March 26, 1945. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals along with several other medals for his service. Clint graduated from University of Louisville School of Law in May 1952, receiving a Bachelor of Laws degree. He worked for the Veteran’s Administration as an adjudicator until he retired in September 1980.
Clint wed the love of his life, Patsy J. Setser, on July 15, 1946. Today, on their 75th wedding anniversary, Clint will be laid to rest forever beside his beloved wife, Pat. They were blessed with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They travelled to many places across the country together in their RV aptly titled “The Good Life”
Clint will always be remembered for his sense of humor, deep love for his family and devotion to his church, Midline Park Baptist church, and later Buechel Park Baptist Church after they merged. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Clint is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat, Parents, Scenia and James Martin, Sisters: Edna Herron, Mary Neal, Dollie Wilder, Virginia Texter, Brothers: Everett, Herbert, James, Hubert, J.B., and Woodrow.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Donna Skees (Mel), Son, Jay Martin (Kathy), Grandchildren: Lori Rupert (Paul), Suzanne Skees, Julia Roby (Jarrad), Wesley Martin, Great Grandchildren: Emily Rupert, Blake Rupert, Clinton Kellon, and Reese Roby.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. (4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218)
Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday July 14, 2021 and again from 11 AM until the service time of 2 PM Thursday, at the funeral home.
Donations can be made in Clint’s memory to Buechel Park Baptist Church.
