Clarine Rachel Simpson

She was born on December 23, 1937 to the late William Carver & Donnie Harper Carver. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Simpson.

Rachel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a founder, matriarch and life-time member of Greater Life Apostolic Church, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Simpson (Rachel), James Simpson (Ada), Kathy Simpson, Timmy Simpson (Kathy), Carolyn Kemper (Mike), Barbie Thacker, Brenda Munson (Todd), Mary Browning (Alan); brother, JT Carver (Bonita); 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren and several loving extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Greater Life Apostolic Church (114 N. Beckley Station Road, Louisville, KY 40245). A service to honor the life of Rachel will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at church. Rachel will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Rachel may be made to Greater Life Apostolic Church.
