I'm going to miss you my  friend . This guy taught me and pushed all my limits on guitar . If it was not for Chris I would not be the guitar player I'm am today . I was going to call ya today and come vist but I had no idea he passed . Rest in peace Chris . I'm surely going to miss you

My favorite memories of Uncle Chris are our talks about Star Wars and him teaching me yo-yo tricks.

Uncle Chris, you were the greatest uncle ever. I will always remmber how you played guitar and sang with us at Christmas. You will be truly missed. I love you.

Chris was a very kind and helpful person, a smiling, happy, brilliant, loveable man and we are all devastated that he is gone.

Chris was my long-time friend, and electronics wizard. His absence will be felt all through louisville for a long time to come.

I first met Chris 30 years ago when I was 10 years old at Dixie 
Music Center. I took guitar lessons from him and bought several guitars and amps from him through the years, many which I still own. Chris was always very nice to me and my brother Bryan. Whenever Dixie Music closed their doors as many know he went to work for First Quality Music. His skill level as a guitar tech was already very advanced,  but after he worked for FQMC his skills seemed to be on a whole new level. In Fact, I trusted nobody  to work on my guitars except for Chris. He was that good! Chris was an excellent guitarist as well, he was great at lead but he would always tell me " Rhythm is where the money is" and shake his head and smile. We had a lot in common and were good friends. He always greeted me with a smile and would jam with me whenever he wasn't busy. Chris was like a big brother to me, always trying to guide and teach me. Words cannot describe the immense loss we have all felt by losing a treasure like Chris. We love you and you will be missed! Donald Boice

I knew nobody who knew the guitar so completely as Chris.  Ive had few guitars or amps in 25 years that he didnt fix, modify or set up. I doubt Ill be able to play a note without thinking of him now.  What a great talent, what a great person, and what a great loss to us all.

You rocked this town's guitar community not only with your killer guitar playing but with your genuine concern for everyone you met. When we worked together at Dixie Music Center you taught me alot about guitars which made me a successful guitar salesguy and I thank you for that. I wish you were in some of the bands I played in over the years.  They would've been better off and more successful with your knowledge. Janet & I will always keep you in our hearts. I, like Jim W, was class of '83.  And, like Jim W, I expected to run into either him or Dena every few years or so.  I actually got no paper on Wednesday, or I would have been at visitation.  I haven't seen Dena in 100 years. So sorry for the loss at far too young an age, like a rock star!

I met Chris at Dixie Music and he always treated me like a friend.  Every time I went in there (which was often) he would hand me a guitar and say "show me something new" and then he would share some new technique with me.  He did wonderful work to all my guitars.  When I found out he worked at FQMS I made a trip in there with a guitar that needed some work and needed a better bridge pickup.  I told him "you know what I like... pick one for me" and he did.  The guitar is exactly how it was when I got it back from him and it's still perfect.  My wife wanted to surprise me for our 5th wedding anniversary so she went up to see Chris at Dixie Music. Ed had a few Les Pauls hanging on the wall, one of which I had played and really liked.  Chris knew exactly the one I wanted and helped her with the purchase.  For our 10th wedding anniversary she wanted to surprise me again and she ended up talking to Chris again, this time at FQMS.  Once again he hooked her up with the perfect Les Paul for me.  I'm happy that Chris played such an important role in picking out those guitars for me for such a meaningful occasion in my life.  I'm going to miss him dearly, but I am very fortunate to have known him and for having him play such an important role in my life as a musician.

Chris, I certainly didn't expect to see your name here so soon.  I always assumed we'd keep bumping into each other every other year or so just like we have for the past 30 years.



I remember you and I taking turns playing that acoustic guitar in Bill Steven's basement one night.  You, of course, went on to become a master.  I still play just about like I did 30 years ago.  I will always remember hanging out at Dixie Music after the store closed.  I would always sit there with my jaw on the floor as you played some song you just learned.  I still have that B.C. Rich you gave me with all the mods.

Rest in peace, buddy.  I'm sure I'll bump into you again some day.

Chris was a great and talented guy. Anytime I needed work done on my guitars or amps, he would drop what he was doing to lend me a hand. I went to see him about 2 months ago, and he didn't look well? He always had a smile on his face. I Will miss him. Rest in Peace bro.   eddie soward

20 years ago I auditioned for a band. I met Phil, Paul, Paul & Chris. Putting his name last is a joke! He may have been the smallest member but in my heart he was a GIANT! He managed us, taught us, guided us but most of all he led us. The best guitar player I have ever met & I've met a lot. Chris, Christine & I thank you for all the years of good times, great music but most of all your friendship! P.S. Tell Stevie Ray Vaughan how much you respected him. I miss you Chris.  I will cherish the memories I have of you. If you were playing, teaching, bowling, or working your magic to fix an old guitar or amp you were the best God ever placed the face of the Earth. 

When it's my turn to come live with God and you would you try to work it out somehow where you will be the one operating the controls to beam me up? You would be the only one I trust to operate the transporter. 

You will me missed by so many because you touched every person you ever met with your heartfelt kindness.

It's very sad to hear about the loss of Chris. He has been a good friend that helped me grow as a musician. I played my first gigs sitting in on guitar in King Cotton and later formed my first cover band with Chris. Some of my proudest moments as a musician were shared with him and his loss makes me hold those memories more dear.

Chris, I didn't know you long, but in a short amount of time we became bro's. You were an unbelievably talented musician & Luthier. I'm going to miss our talks on politics & music gear. I'm praying for your soul, my brother!

I worked with Chris at Willis Music while I was in college.  I joined a bowling league with him, and I was horrible at bowling, but he was always a wonderful cheerleader.  I will never forget talking about Superman and Star Trek at work, and hearing him work on guitars and play them, especially the song "Aimee."  I had not spoken to Chris in years, but I have a lot of good memories of him.  I am heartbroken to hear he has left us.  Goodspeed, friend.

I met Chris when I worked at Dixie Music and he was taking lesson's from Larry Hatcher. We eventually worked together both at DMC and FQMS. Chris was always willing to help you out if you had a guitar problem. He worked on several of my guitars and any time I started to tell him what I wanted done he would say, "Buddy, you don't have to tell me I know what you like." and it was true! Chris was all about the 4 "S'" Stevie Ray Vaughan, Star Trek, Seinfeld and Superman! He always liked to remind me that we were both Taurus' and stubborn. We were friends for 32 years not too many people you can say that about. Rest in peace my friend I wish I could have been there for you.

Chris, thank you for letting me experience your guitar genius. It was a true honor to work beside you and to watch you help people when they thought all hope was gone . You will be greatly missed my friend.  Tell Junior I said hi.

Chris even though we had separate mothers you were my brother. You gave me so much enjoyment "trying to teach" me the guitar. You never gave up on me learning the dreaded F chord! Buddy I finally got the hang of that chord and so many other riffs and songs that I thought I could never learn. You gave me the confidence to take my playing to a place I never thought possible. You are without a doubt the best teacher I ever had the honor to learn from. Thank you pal!

You will be missed but never gone from my heart. Keep them rockin in heaven until I get there!
