Christopher Flynn Metcalfe leaves behind to cherish his memory and dwell in the warmth of his spirit, his loving parents Eric and Michele and his sisters Anna and Sara.
Predeceased by his maternal Great Grandparents Arthur and Anne Panzica, his paternal Grandparents Tom and Jean Metcalfe and maternal Grandfather Bill Duffy.
Survived by his maternal Grandmother Arlene Duffy, Uncles Scott Metcalfe and Vincent Duffy (Colleen) and many cousins.
Flynn was a fun, intelligent and talented young man. He was a 2018 graduate from Eastern High School. Flynn was a dedicated student, studying nights and weekends to earn his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville's Speed Scientific School in May 2023. He was accepted into the Engineer In Training program at Vogt Power where he made fast friends and was well respected.
Flynn was the rare mix of artistic talent and book smarts. He loved to do karaoke and taught himself six instruments.
His family was the center of his life and he never failed to let them know how much he loved them. Faith was an important part of his life and he was baptized with his sisters into the Southern Baptist church in the summer of 2018. Whether it was a kiss on the forehead or an "I love you" in the family group chat, Flynn was generous with his love. And that generosity extended to his many friends.
Flynn was a devoted friend, sharing his tender-hearted and kind nature to all he met. He saw the good in people and endeared them to him with his genuine interest in others. He always wanted to go to Las Vegas and finally got there for his 21st birthday. He knew how to have a good time and his friends happily came along for the ride.
Flynn's physical presence in this world will be sorely missed. But his spirit will be carried on by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will occur at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road Louisville, KY 40241 from 6-8PM on Friday, December 22, 2023. A celebration of Flynn's life will begin at 8PM, following visitation.
