Charles “Russell” Witten of Louisville, Kentucky lived a long gracious life of 91 years. He passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024. He was born into humble beginnings in Bonnieville, KY on 3/3/33, to Clara and Charles Witten. He and his family moved to Louisville after World War 2 and became a long-time resident of Shively, Ky. Russell was a graduate of Valley High School, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from The University of Louisville Speed Scientific School, and an Army veteran.
Russell was a Registered Builder and Developer and a long-time member of the Home Builders Association of Louisville. He also was a Real Estate Broker and longstanding member of the Louisville Board of Realtors. Russell was a Methodist by faith and an avid golfer who frequented Iroquois and Bobby Nichols Golf courses during his playing days.
Russell was a friend to many and treasured the connections he made with neighbors, colleagues, and golfing buddies. His biggest attribute was being a caring uncle and friend to his nephews, and family members. He led a blessed life and will be missed by many.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clara Witten; his brothers and a sister, Earl Witten, Cordelia Witten, Edgar Witten, Bill Witten, Curtis Witten and Wendell Witten.
Left to cherish his memory are his nephews, Conway Witten, Mitch (Donna) Witten, Tim (Cassie) Witten, Robert Witten, Dwight (Susan) Witten and Wes (Lori) Witten.
