He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; His parents, Richard “Jack” and Monica Hayes Wheatley; Sisters, Jackie Sue and Frances; Brothers, Thomas, David, and Kenneth.
He was a Maintenance Supervisor with General Electric, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, member of the Knights of Columbus- Monsignor Newman #4665, a member of St. Vincent DePaul, a KY Colonel,and a founding member of St. Clement Parish (St. Peter the Apostle)
He is survived by sons, Dennis (Pam), Stephen (Donna), Charles R. Jr., James (Chong Mi) and John (Gina); daughters, Rose Mary Prather (Gary), Marsha Parker (Tom), Mary Melinda Kelly( Stephen); Sisters, Faye Ferry, Patsy Bush and Judy Winters.
17 – Grandchildren; 27- Great Grandchildren.
His funeral service will be on Tuesday, 11am at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5433 Johnsontown Road, with burial following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation is on Monday from 10am - 8 pm, at the W.G. Hardy Funeral Home.
