Charles Speer, 71 of Louisville, passed away October 26, 2018. He was the son of the late Thomas Speer and Ethyle Hamilton Speer. Charles was in the Navy for 6 years, during that time he served on the USS John Kennedy. After his time in the Navy, Charles worked for General Electric and became a member of Southeast Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Cooper Speer; his children: Melanie (Jacob) Steier and Joshua Speer; his grandsons: Logan Steier and Parker Steier; his 3 sisters: Betty (Bob) Buchheitt, Sharon (Inder) Chawla, and Kay (Tommy) McGowan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Arch L Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the funeral home.
