Charles Gamie Brown

Charles Gamie Brown, 71, of Louisville, formerly of Bardstown, passed away January 8, 2015. He was born September 22, 1943 to the late William Gilbert and Mary Louise Hurst Brown. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He cherished his close friends and family. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and golfer. Gamie graduated from St. Joe Prep in 1962 and attended St. Catharine College and then went on to receive both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. He retired from the Jefferson County Public Schools system after teaching for 27 years.

In addition to his parents, Gamie is preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Lucille Brown House(Tom).

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vickie (Walker) Brown; children, Megan Elizabeth Brown, Michael Gamie Brown, and Shaun Gregory Brown; grandson, Max Gerard Brown; brothers, William G. Brown, Jr.(Beverly) and Joseph Len Brown(Penny); and sister, Mollie Rose Brown.

Funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Evergreen Funeral Home with private entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8pm Tuesday.
