Born in New Castle, Kentucky on Wednesday, July 26, 1933 Carolyn was the oldest of 7 children, she was born to C.A. Stamper & Fannie Carroll Long. She worked for many years doing administrative work for the Commission of Special Needs Children for the State of Kentucky, from which she retired. Carolyn loved to play bingo and could often be found at Derby City Gaming. She was a caregiver to many of her family, always providing care and comfort to those who needed it. She was very family oriented & had a big heart of gold. She lived a full life – a life well lived!
Besides her parents, C.A. Stamper & Fannie Carroll Long; her husband, Harold Temple, Sr.; daughter, Sherry K. Carter; sister, Velma Herrensmith; & brothers, Shirley Long, Edward Morgan & Earl Morgan, precede Carolyn in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory is her granddaughter, Kristen (Chris) Mohr; brother, Rodney (Theresa) Morgan; sister, Anita Batts; nieces, Gena (Dennis) Batts – Kidd & Sandra (Jeremy) Lucas; nephews, Mike Morgan, Damon (Jennifer) Herrensmith & Kevin Morgan & family; & great – nephew & niece, William Herrensmith & Abigail Herrensmith; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Memorial donations can be made in honor of Carolyn to Hosparus.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Carolyn will be laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
