She was born June 19, 1949, in Ringgold Georgia to Thomas L. and Vivian V. Wright. Early in life she lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her family later moved to Rockford, Illinois where she attended Guilford High School and graduated in 1967. She married Earnest S. Locke and that marriage was blessed with the birth of Brenda’s first son, Steven L. Locke. Brenda moved to Jefferson County and later married Farren C. Ross, and was blessed with the birth of Jack C. Ross, and Jill R. Ross. She retired from the Madison State Hospital where she first worked in the kitchen, and later in housekeeping. She loved her job and the many friends that she met there. She called them her second family. Once she retired she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee and then to Louisville, KY. Brenda was of the Baptist Faith which was instilled in her by her loving parents at an early age. She attended the Beverly Park Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois, and later Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hanover, Indiana. She passed on her faith to her children. Her first and foremost love was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved making crafts, crocheting, cross stitch, making scrapbooks, making dollhouses, listening to Elvis, playing bingo, going to yard sales, and making people laugh. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger, but was quick to tell everyone what she thought. She will be remembered by her laugh, and love for her family and friends.
