I am shocked and saddened to have just learned of Brenda's death.  I met her at Baster Avenue Baptist Church in 1962.  She was so very kind to me.   For you see I had such a crush on her and was two years younger than she.  I was all of 12 years old and she could have cut me off at the knees but she was kind and put up with my clumsy  romantic advances and never hurt me at all.  I will always remember her kindness, gentleness and cheerful spirit.   

I just found out that Brenda passed away.  Even at this late date, to the family, I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss.  Brenda was one of my best friends when I was a teen and young adult.  Unfortunately, we lost touch pretty much after I moved to Nashville.  We spoke a few times by phone and I visited once when I was in Louisville but we had not talked for several years.  Brenda was one of the nicest people I have ever known and she was a good friend.  I remember how much she loved children and how they loved her right back.  When you care about people, it is so important that you keep in touch.   I know that it's been a while, but to me, it's new and I am so very sad.

I do remember, though, that Brenda had the most perfect legs I have ever seen and for me, with my chubby little legs, I was just green with envy.

Brenda was my Big Sister and some of the happiest moments were those shared on St. Anthony Place with her and Jim playing in St. Anthony Hospital. Loved by all and surely to be equally missed by all. Brenda was a fighter and hadn't given up and was cheerful the Sunday that I called with her big Hellllooooo....then came the Monday phone call which chanced everything. The world will be a little less bright from now on.

Brenda (Aunt Joycee), You may not be physically with me today or tomorrow BUT YOU WILL be with me everyday in both my memories and my heart.  We had another Fri night get together and laughed about so many wonderful memories and your picture was right there sitting on top of the bar with your wonderful smile with us.  PS: Kelly joined us too!

I am so sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. She was my best friend growing up on St. Anthony Pl. We lost contact for so many years but I never stopped thinking of her. We were able to find each other in recent years.I am very sad to have lost her but am grateful for the time that we reconnected. It was as if no time had passed. So sad to hear of Brenda's passing.  What a sweet, fun, wonderful lady.  So blessed to have known her.

I will always miss your love and laughter. You knew no stranger and gave yourself to everyone. Mom and Dad have you back now.

I am so deeply saddened by Brenda's passing. We worked together for many, many years, she called me her little brother of which I enjoyed. I pray that she is in peace.  You touched many lives for the good, Brenda.

Brenda! A light hearted soul. A gal with an infectious smile. We will miss you, Brenda. It's a sad, sad day to know you are gone. We will miss seeing you where we are playing and watching you flirt  and dance  and laugh  and truly enjoy being alive. Rest in peace, girl friend.

Fifty years have passed since Brenda knew me from the neighborhood of Baxter Avenue Baptist, but who could forget her smile and kindness at that time. She liked everyone then, but as for myself, she probably just could not see me, she had such terrible eyesight and must have overlooked all my faults. A wonderful person.

I will miss your smile and laughter. Will remember all the fun times that we shared at the Halloween Zoo Party. Enjoyed working with you at H&B as well - God Bless and Keep them laughing in heaven.........

Brenda, You will be missed by all.  I remember all the good times we had at Flarethy's and Porters.  You were such a joy to be with.

I was fortunate to have had my life and my sons life touched by her. We are better people for having had the privilege to have been loved by her. We are so, so, very sorry for the loss the family is experiencing. 

We love you and we send our thoughts and prayers.

You will be missed. And we Love you so much. I know our God is taking care of you now.
