Bonnie Delores Monroe, 86, entered into rest on Friday, July 28, 2017. She was formerly of Louisville and Big Springs, Ky. She was the only child of the late John Watkins and Eulaine Payne. She was a homemaker, who was married for 56 years to the late Milburn Monroe. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, niece, cousin and friend. She loved spending time at Dale Hollow Lake through the years on their houseboats named for their daughters, Vivalina #1 -#4. She loved playing cards with her friends every Saturday Night, loved music and dancing, solving puzzles, creating paper dolls of celebrities and family and designing their clothing. She was known to hum and sing around the house! She was a huge Elvis fan and loved to collect Barbie’s and model antique cars. She loved her many dogs and would always take care of strays. She loved bright colors; especially the color orange and she enjoyed bird watching. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Monroe, and her great – grandson, Jacob Henning. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Vivian Monroe and Malina Berry (Michael); 5 Grandchildren, Lori Bennett (Kevin), Chris Hansford (Traci), Marti Johnston (Phil), Tisha Schrudde (Andy), Katie Henning (Maurice); 7-great grandsons and 1-great granddaughter, Zack Alexander, Slade and Drake Bennett; Karissa and Braxton Henning; Jacob Johnston; Drew and Nick Schrudde. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at the Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, with burial following in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8pm at the funeral home.
