He was born on November 4,1926 to Arthur and Eva (Adams) Voss in Louisville, KY. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S Army and served in the Pacific during World War II. Bill was an avid golfer and UK fan. He was devoted to his wife of 50 years, Anna Catherine, and they loved to travel and play cards with family and friends. He retired from Naval Ordinance Station after a long career as a production controller. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a longtime and active member of the Friendship Club at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Edith Marcella (Busch) Voss, his second wife Anna Catherine (Lynch) Voss, his parents, brothers Arthur, Charles, Joseph, and little Joe, his sister Alice Lutes, and his daughter Wanda Warren.
He is survived by his children, Charles Voss (Alice), Susan Voss-Ryan, William Voss, Jr., Robert Voss, Edward Warren (Tammy), Robert Warren (Deborah), a sister, Rosalie (Voss) Lutes; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 3rd from 4 to 8 PM at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY. A Catholic mass and celebration of life is scheduled for Monday, October 4th, at 9:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road with burial in Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
