A lifelong Christian, he was a devoted and loving husband, a vigilant and patient father, doting grandfather and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Highview Baptist Church and loved building and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jocie Salmons Baize; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey (Carol), Kenneth (Rebecca), Timothy (Melisa), Brian (Kathy) and Jonathan (Cheri) Baize; brother, Carroll Baize; and the lights of his life, his 11 grandchildren.
His Celebration of LIfe service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be on Friday, from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
