Proffitt, Betty Jean, 84, passed away on April 6, 2014. Betty was known for her great pride volunteering at Louisville Male High School campus.
Preceding her in death is her loving husband of 56 years, Alex Proffitt.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vana Bassler and Erma (Chris) Hanna; grandchildren, Laura Bassler, David (Alex) Bassler, and Matthew Whitehouse; step-grand children, Ryan Hanna and Jordan (Rob) Azinger; and sister, Carolyn Basham.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Sanctuary/Benevolence Fund.
