Born in Louisville to the late Hunter and Violet Elston, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church and lived a life full of warmth, love, and deep connection with others.
Betty worked as a hairstylist by trade, but her greatest joy came from caring for her family as a devoted housewife. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In her earlier years, Betty loved traveling, visiting the beach, attending car shows, and participating in TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). She had a radiant personality and a natural charm that made people feel welcomed and loved. Her gentle spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Willard Ray Jr.; her brothers Buddy, Maxie, and Joe Elston; and her sisters June Schnellenberger and Barbara Peyton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Willard (Ray) Franke; her sons Timothy (Tina) Franke and Robert Franke; her grandchildren Stephanie Fluhr, Timothy Scott (Andie) Franke, Ryan Franke (T), and Katie Franke (Christian); and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Rautenbusch (Pete); many nieces and nephews, including her niece Susan Westfall, with whom she shared a special bond.
