Bennett Arthur Smith, born on February 21, 1951, in Knott County, Kentucky, lived a life full of love and dedication. As a young man, he moved to Louisville, where he met the love of his life, Louevia. Together, they built a beautiful family, with Bennett becoming a devoted father to three daughters and later welcoming another baby girl into their lives.
A retired machinist, Bennett found joy in the simple pleasures of life: fishing, movies, music, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He never missed a grandchild’s event or an opportunity to lend a hand to his children, embodying the selflessness and love that defined his character. Though he deeply grieved the loss of his beloved Louevia, his family finds comfort in knowing they are now reunited in Heaven.
Bennett is survived by his daughters, Debra Phelps, Donna Shadburne (Rick), Della Sennett (Jim), and Deanna Barcus (David); his grandchildren, Bryan Abell, Casey Barcus, Evan Sennett (Elizabeth Markert), and Madison Sennett; his sister, Sue Williamson; his brother, Larry Smith; his cousin and best friend, David Smith; and a host of other loving relatives.
He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Louevia Smith; his parents, John B. and Edith Smith; and his brothers, Shirl, McCoy, Daniel, and Robert Smith.
Bennett’s unwavering love, dedication, and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
