He was a retired CPA for Tri City Oldsmobile, a member of the Masonic Home of Kentucky the Middletown VFW Post 1170 and the Kentucky Society of CPA's. He was also a past member of Southpark Country Club.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bessie Rogers; a son, Douglas Rogers and his two brothers, Luther and David Rogers.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Virginia Rogers; sons, Matthew Rogers (Karen) and Samuel Rogers (Sandy); step-daughters, Sharon Skipton (Rick), Connie Mokhiber (Peter) and Becky Ware; brother, Timothy Rogers; sister, Pauline Williams; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. on Sunday.
