She was preceded in passing by her loving husband John Pat Newton Sr., in 1996, parents, Edward and Mildred (Krupp) Riggle, and sister, Mary (Betty) E. Hardin(Robert).
She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and past member of St. Athanasius and Resurrection. Barbara was a proud graduate of Presentation Academy (1956), and a member of Al-Anon family groups.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah Tucker(Richard), John Newton Jr.(Lynn), Julia Forst(John), Rick Newton(Misty), six grandchildren; Travis, Zachary(Sarah), Matthew(Megan), Trent(Sarah), Alexandra and Christina, sister-in-laws, Ann Hardin, Thelma Hardin and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 7, 2023 from 2-8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home in Okolona. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 11:30am at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Louisville, Kentucky with entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
