An angel returned to Heaven on the morning of September 5, 2012 with her children by her side. Barbara Ann Williams Grady, 78, was born June 26, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edward Williams and Elizabeth Agnes Jury Williams as well as four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her sister, Marie Gordon and her brother Jerry Williams.
She was cherished by her four children and their families; Tom Grady (Marge) and his sons, Jody, Jeff and Sean; Terri Grady Winder (Joe) and their children, Jennifer, Hayley and Rusty; Toni Grady Lehring and her daughters, Kayla and Kameryn; Tim Grady (Lisa) and their sons, T.J. and Jimmy; as well as two great-grandchildren.
She was a resident of the Farmdale Adult Citizen community, where she was well known for her quick wit and camaraderie, her “championship” Wii bowling, her prize winning Halloween costumes and her reputation as a skilled card player. She was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hats Club. She was an active member of St. Athanasius Parish where she participated in S.A.W.S.
She loved God, little children, a good joke and tuxedo cats and everyone loved her.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the kind and compassionate staff of the Open Heart Unit and the Progressive Cardiac Unit of Norton Audubon Hospital. The entire staff was simply wonderful. A special thank you to Drs. Shankir Chandamarani, John Sullivan and Donald Duff. They were stalwart soldiers in her final battle.
