Arthur Lee "Art" Dickerson

Art was born June 25, 1926 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert Cecil and Dorothy Vernon (McAlister) Dickerson.

Art is survived by his three sons and one daughter – Art Dickerson, Jr. and his wife Pat of Frisco, Texas; Dottie Thompson and her husband, Steve, of Jeffersontown, Kentucky; James Dickerson and his wife Kathy of LaGrange, Kentucky, and Jesse Dickerson of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brothers, Phillip, James, and sisters, Virginia and Delores.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cecil Dickerson, stepfather Leslie and mother Dorothy (McAlister) Denhard, and his wife Thelma Geneva Dickerson (Hoagland) in 2010, and Roy in 1999, and Gene in 2009.

The visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, January 13 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213.

On Thursday, January 14 at 10:00 AM, a celebration of life service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home at the same location. Burial will immediately follow the life celebration within the adjoining cemetery where Art will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Geneva Dickerson, of nearly 60 years.
