Amanda was one of the first employed for Jefferson County Head Start Program.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Underwood, Sr.; and son Harold Dobson.
Amanda is survived by her children, Barbara Underwood, Robert Underwood, Jr. (Angie), Kenneth Underwood (Julia), and Debra Meeks; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Elizabeth Williams and Oma Eldridge (Ernest).
Funeral service will be 10am on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy., with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation for the public will be from 2-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
The family of Amanda would like to express special thanks to the staff of Twinbrook for the care they gave.
