Alvin “Al” Charles Ruhs, 81 passed away at his home on March 4, 2024 with his family, a day before his 82nd birthday. Al and his wife Jan enjoyed living in many different places ranging from Florida, Arizona and Tennessee finally returning to Louisville for the past five years. Al spent to majority of his career in sales within the transportation industry. Al and Jan found their true passion when they started their Home Inspection company which they owned and operated for 15 years in Nashville before retirement. One of dad’s greatest joys was being outside continuously improving his landscaping. Al is preceded in death by his wife Janice Ruhs, his brothers, Gerald, Johnny and Bill and his pet bird Kiwi. He is survived by his children Michael, Kevin and wife Lynne, Todd and wife Tiffany and 5 grandchildren, Alexandria, Nolan, Savanah, Brianna and Nathan, 3 great-grandchildren Claire, Paige and Amelia, his brother JD and sister Barbara.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 3-8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
