Alice Ray Mitchell

She was born in Fairdale, Kentucky on January 9th, 1946. Alice graduated from the Saint Jerome School. She was married to Darwin Gene Mitchell on August 13th, 1966 and would have celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary next month.

When she was not staying home to raise her young children, Alice had a career as a bookkeeper for several organizations including Union Oil and the Town of Lanesville, Indiana.

She had a passion for sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and interior design, and she lovingly supported her family in all their endeavors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond W. Grant and Nora Bush Grant, and her infant son, Adam Grant Mitchell. She is survived by her loving husband, Darwin Gene Mitchell; her children, Kevin (Heather) Mitchell, Ashley (Derek) Worthington, and Jefferey Mitchell; grandchildren Henry Mitchell, Eva Mitchell, Ryder Worthington, and Oliver “Ollie” Worthington.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 26th, 12 Noon at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY. Visitation will be held after 10:00 am Monday until the time of the funeral.
