Alex David Goodman

Alex was a 2011 graduate of St. Xavier HS and a 2015 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. After college, he had worked in group sales for Humana and in financial services for DPL. Alex was known for his spirit and high energy and could light up a room with his smile. His sense of humor and laughter were contagious, and he brought so much joy to those around him. Alex spent 28 summers on the beaches of Oak Island, NC. It was his happy place, and the beach will not be the same without him. He also enjoyed U of L sports, skateboarding and golfing with his buddies. Alex’s greatest love though was the love he had for his brother, Austin. He was his biggest fan.

He is survived by his parents David and Tracey Goodman; his brother Austin Goodman; girlfriend, Holly Dunkley; grandmother, Shelby Deal; aunts and uncles, April and Dave Molz, Michael Smith, Kim and Dion Goodman, and Christopher Deal; and cousins Alden, Kyle, Nick, Keith, Tyler, and Lydia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur Hartlage, Donna Hartlage, and William Deal.

Visitation for Alex will be held from 2-8pm Monday and after 9 am Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. His funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either the Kentucky Humane Society or Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA).
